The 3 Keys to Being a Shameless Christian

Most kids want to make their parents proud of them.

As a Christian, you are God’s child. You will want to live a life that pleases your Father in Heaven. Parents are generally pleased when we obey them. Jesus even says, “If you love me, keep my commandments” or “obey what I have said.”

Here are 3 key things to do that will make your heavenly Father proud.

Don’t be ashamed of following Christ

Jesus said “If you deny me before men, I will deny you before my Father in heaven.” (The Gospel of Mathew 10:32-33)

If you are gonna follow Christ, you must do it knowing that other people may ridicule you. Jesus said, “The world hates me, it will hate you too.” And Peter writes, “Don’t be surprised when a fiery trial comes upon you.” This is the same Peter who denied knowing Jesus 3 times in the same night.

If you have been ashamed of Jesus in the past, don’t worry. Just like Peter, He will forgive you.

Don’t be ashamed of the Gospel

Paul writes, “I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God unto Salvation to everyone who believes.” (Romans 1:16)

The Gospel is what gives people the path to Salvation. It is the good news. It is what gives people hope. This life is full of suffering. But God provided a way out of the suffering and back to Him through His son. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth and the life. No man comes to the Father except through me.”

If you deny the Gospel, you are denying the only path to Salvation.

Don’t be ashamed from lack of study

Jesus says, “You make an error not knowing the scriptures or the power of God.” (Matthew 22:29)

There is a lot of false teaching in the world around what the Bible says. And the reason so many pastors, teachers, and religions get away with it is few people study their Bibles. Don’t be one of those people who relies on others to read the Bible for them.

Paul writes “Study so that you can be a workman who does not need to be ashamed.”
